To provide connectivity to the White River Innovation District (former GM Stamping Plant) and in the surrounding neighborhoods, construction is underway on the west side of the White River. This portion of the project is funded by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and the City of Indianapolis.
Project Scope
By the end of 2025, Indy DPW plans to:
- Open the reconstructed “D Loop” from Washington Street to South White River Parkway
- Open Relocated South White River Parkway, connecting to the D Loop and Oliver Street at Drover Street
- Open Innovator Way (previously Henry Street) from Harding Street to the Relocated South White River Parkway
- Open Holly Avenue to connect Oliver Street to the new Innovator Way (previously Henry Street)
Ongoing improvements include:
- Installing pavers along sidewalks and ramps
- Planting trees and shrubs
All work is expected to be complete on the west side of the river in Spring 2026.
